Delay before received messages get in the inbox

I have a problem with my Outlook. Whenever someone sends me a mail, even to
the same Exchange server I am on, I do not receive it.

I have to click on a different forlder (For example: "Deleted items") and
then back to the inbox. Then I get the mail....

I have tried reinstalling Office, but it did not help.

Anyone know why it is so, and perhaps have a solution for it?

In advance, thanks.

Version of Outlook?

Make sure that UDP messages don't get blocked by any firewall in between as
well.

Tips of the month:
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

Outlook 2000, forgot to mention that.

But there is no firewall in between. Only the Windows XP firewall.

It is so strange. I have to click on a different folder before they get in
my inbox.

Do you have Office 2000 Service Pack 3 installed already? It holds fixes for
this issue as well.

Thanks to Roady for helping me out here. I have now solved the problem..

First of all, it was the Windows XP firewall which held back the UDP
packets. I tried to turn it off, and then everything went smoothly.

Having the Firewall turned off is nothing one wish to have, so I tried to
install the SR's and latest updates. (SR-1 was not even installed.)

SR-1: Still same problem
SR-3: Still same problem
Officeupdate.com: Fixed the problem.

So for all who have the same problem: Update your office with the latest
releases.
