Del NTLDR and cant boot

I've made the mistake of installing windows on one of my secondary HD's. The
boot order of my HD's had the OS in the last order and a storage one as the
first.
As a result the active drive and the boot files along with other files were
not on the windows HD and in my absent-mindness i formated the bootdrive
without realizing the conciquences.

i'm now trying to fix this proble with recovery console from my XP Disk,

First i reset the boot order of the drives, now the windows HD if the first
to boot. Then i copied from the Windows XP CD the NTLDR and ntdetect.com
files into the c:\ root directory.
then i used bootfix comand on the c:\drive with no effect. i then tried to
use bootcfg /scan followed by bootcfg /rebuild but i'm not sure what i'm
doing at this point, anyone know how to reconstruct my windows without a
fresh install?

Hi,

Have you run fixboot from the Recovery Console yet?
