Degree Symbol

What I do is to put the Superscript and Subscript icons on my toolbar and
click them on and off as needed. To get a reasonable degree symbol using
this, mere click the Superscript icon (I'll explain how to get it on a
toolbar in a second), type a lower case "o" (not zero), click the icon again
to turn it off. I actually have several macros on a toolbar that gives me a
°F, °C, DT, ¸, ±, etc.

To put the icons on your toolbar (I put them next to the "B", "U", and "I",
do the following:

1. Right-click your toolbar area, select "Customize"
2. Click the "Commands" TAB
3. Click the "Format" category to the left
4. Scroll down on the right hand side until you find the two icons
5. Click each one and drag it to your toolbar.
6. Close the dialog box

If you want me to send the "Symbols add-in" with the toolbar, holler back.
I'll write up a brief set of instructions to make it available every time
you open Word.

There are font characters for the superscript o and a (used in numbering in
some languages), but a superscript o, whether natural or created, is *not* a
good substitute for the degree symbol, for which there is a built-in
keyboard shortcut (which Dreamboat and Greg have already provided).
