defragmentation

Hi
Obviously, the lower the disk fragmentation the better, but what is an
acceptable level to set my defrag tool to automatically run at ?

It's not that simple, IMO. It depends on what you use your machine
for, and how much free space yoiu have, compared to the kind of files
you write, and the occasional fragmentation won't be noticed.

If you have (on a desktop machine) a 20GB disk that's half full you'll
always have big chucks of free space to write into. Once disk space
drops below some threshold things go downhill fast. I watch for 1GB
as a rule.
