Defragmentation is never complete

XP Home is fine except the Defrafment program. When it is commanded to do this job it test to see if this is needed and th
end of the test ststea that I should run Defragment but it will never complete the job and states that it is done but it shows the disk still almost the same. I have epeatedly dont this and always had the same results
50G HD 20 G used
 
I don't like their defrag program either, but we are stuck with it until
someone comes up with a replacement for it.
One would think microsoft would know the best way to defrag XP tho.
