Hello,

When my computer goes onto screensaver mode, it begin to
defragment. Then I check the processes tab in task
manager and click the defrag.exe and end task.

I checked if it's a scheduled task, it is not.

Why does it automatically start to defragment?

With kind regards

I don't have a System Restore point to restore to.

Any other way or opinions please?

Thanks

Hi

Why don't you have an SR checkpoint to fall back on? Isn't System Restore
working?

Windows does mini defrags. Why do you care? Why are you sabotaging windows then asking questions here about it.

This will be the mini-defrag it does every three days in an otherwise
idle period (hence triggered at screen saver), so as to optimise
placement of files for faster loading. Let it do so
