yo just get trhe program perfect disk from
www.raxco.com.com
its like the best defragger and its better than disk keeper
Wow, I'm convinced
Intelligent partitioning. If 95% of your disk activity happens within
the first 8G of a 120G HD, it matters considerably less how fragmented
that 8G C: volume becomes. Also makes it quicker to defrag C:, and
defragging the rest is easier because those volumes are not always "in
use", as C: invariably is. Protects data from C: corruption, etc.
AFAIK, all defraggers other than Norton are simply wrappers around the
same NT defrag API. So aside from "chrome" such as managing when it
runs etc. I'd expect them to work equally tolerably.
Other smarts; scale down IE's web cache (whch is duplicated for every
user profile in XP; who the hell wants 1G+ of last month's web
..gifs?), move large cold lumps off C:, move data off C: for safety
(TweakUI for XP is your friend), etc.
