defragement asking to chkdsk?

I want to defrag and it won't let me. Message: disk
fragmenter has determined that chkdsk his scheduled to run
the volume (C:). Please run Chkdsk /f.

I have had the same problem.

And CHKDSK /F does not work from a CMD line if it is the SYS disk.
Fortunately I have WINXP 64 beta installed on another HD and booting that
system allows me to run CHKDSK on the WINXP SYS drive.
By the way there is a great program called Diskeeper, which you can download
and use for 30 days. (www.diskeeper.com) that might do the trick.
The only other solution is installing WINXP on another HD or to re-install
WINXP.. I guess??.
