Defrag program opens but no response to clicking on buttons

Hi. I can bring up the defrag program but when I click on eather the annalize
or defrag button, there is no response. I have tried a few different methods
to get it going but no luck.

Hi Phil,
Try Defrag in Safe Mode, you may do not have enough memory to Defrag in
Normal Mode.
But before doing that try Clean Disk by Double Click My computer and Selectdisk.
Reboot and Press F8 many time until you get the Start Up Option and select
Safe Mode and when you are in Try to Defrag from there.

Nothing happens when clicking on Defragment or Analyze.

With XP SP2 the DCOM Server Process Launcher service needs to be running for
Defrag to work.

Open Services...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click DCOM Server Process Launcher |
Set Startup type to Automatic | Click OK | Close Services |
Reboot
