i'm trying to run disk defrag on windows xp and it tell me
i don't have enough space and i have 1.5 gb free it tells
me i have 11 mb open and it takes 15 mb to run defrag
it also says i might have some reserved space how do i
unlock the free space so ii can run disk defrag

Recheck the free space!

I suggest you Enable Show Hidden Files and Folders. To enable show hidden
files select Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings
and place a check before Show Hidden Files and Folders. Next Enter Windows Explorer and place the cursor on each drive letter in turn, right click and select Properties.

Also Norton can create "Protected Storage" back up files which you may not be seeing!

How good is your housekeeping?

1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.

2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.

3. Remove Temporary Internet Files by selecting Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, General tab, Delete Files and check box for "Delete all offline content".

4. Empty Recycle Bin.

5. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Hope this helps.
