Defrag mad!

I think I may need help, I think I've lost the plot. Every time I use
my PC and before I turn it off I defrag it. Am I becoming obsessive
and do I need to get a life? Weirdest thing is, it seems to run
better and better, or is it just me. Please help as I am becoming a
little concerned.

Yes you are obsessive. Yes, you need to get a life.
Yes, the speed increase is just your wanting to believe that you are doing
something necessary.

I defrag my disks when XP tells me to. That happens every two or three
months. I can't see any speed increase though.
