GotBonus?

I am trying to track down why my system is slower than I think it should be.
I have modified some of the services that run at start up through advice
from blackviper.com. I wonder, is there a way to reset all services to a
default setting?

Thanks

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Under the General tab, place a dot next to "Normal Startup -
load all device drivers and services", click Apply and reboot.

Thanks for the replies, made the changes and noticed a slight improvement ,
I think.
Don't think the issue is resolved though.

Do any of you use a modified services routine other than the default as a
rule?

Yep. My philosophy is, if you do not need it running disable it or if
unsure, set to Manual.

Agree with that 100%. Just because a Service starts doesn't mean it is
required for a particular setup or use. But modifying should be done
slowly & methodically - Easy to mess things up.

Yes, it is easy to mess things up. I know that for a fact. :-D
