Im running vista with windows mail i can send and recieve e-mails, but when i
click on a link in an e-mail i recieve, Could not perform this operation
because the deault mail client is not properly installed, i have been into
default programs and it is the default mail, everything was running fine a
couple of days ago, but today its not working please help.

Why in the world are you posting about this in a WinXP newsgroup?

Forward to Vista Mail newsgroup via crosspost.

When you were in Default Programs, did you make sure that, in addition to
being the default program, Windows Mail has all its defaults?

Mish, Windows Mail can be the default email client, yet not have all
applicable protocols assigned to it. To do so:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

i have the same problem, but when i go on default programs there is windows
mail (news) and i cannot choose mail

when i go in option tab there is a button to choose windows mail as default
program, i click on, close windows mail, and when i re-open windows mail the
button is not gray and there is a message windows mail is not the default
program

for the new it's ok

have you an idea ?
