Overnight something weird happened. Suddenly I cannot send e-mails straight from the links provided in the web pages of others (ie, I cannot send an e-mail on a link to make a futher enquiry about something on their web page). I have XP-and use outlook express (6.0). I get a message that says that my "dafault mail client is not properly installed". It was installed properly yesterday and for the 3 years or so prior to that since I've had XP on this computer. I've gone through the motions of making sure that its set as my default mail client so that's not the problem. Its the "not properly installed" bit that concerns me. Any clues of what to do? Where did my installation go?

Robyn,

Login as Administrator and run these commands:

Click Start, Run and type the following commands one by one:
%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE /REG
regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msoe.dll"

If the problem persists, type mailto:[email protected] in the RUN box to see if launches the mail client?
