My wife had Windows 2000. I replaced her computer with XP, faster slicker
machine and all her old stuff is there and working. But she is very cross
as it take four more key presses to attach a document in email compared to
Windows 2000.
My wife, likes me, prefers listing to be "details" and "date modified"
next line. I can get this to work on XP machines in explorer alone. I did
not realise that in Windows 2000 the default applied to all applications as
well. So in Windows 2000 attaching a document in an email was easy as the
default listing was in reverse date order, with last on top. Not possible
to set this as a default in applications in XP as far as I can tell.
XP seems to ignore what you set as the default {folder option- set all
folders} when it comes to opening documents or attaching them from
applications such as word and outlook express.
How on earth to get select documents within applications such as Outlook
Express adopt the default explorer setting? We want details date modified
reverse order. Searching on the internet is too vague. Any ideas? is it
stupidly simple to set this? How!
