Default Home Page

After going through the chain of mails in this Section
regarding the Home Page resetting to the Different Home
Page other than the Selected Default Home Page.

I have DownLoaded Ad-Ware From Lavasoft.com and ran it on
the system intially it detected 29 objects and I have
deleted them and reset my Home Page to Yahoo and restarted
the Sysytem but Home Page has been reset to Different
other than I selected. Is there any thing else I need to
do apart from Jut running the Ad-Ware or is there any
better tool by which I can resolve this issue ????

I struggled for MONTHS with this one - evry time I tried to set my home
page to a blank one, it would immediately reset to Dell's Home Page. I
eventually discovered (thanks to the Dell user forums) that the software
I use to block pop up ads had an option to 'lock' the Home Page; it was
this that was resetting it all the time. Red-face, I unticked this
option and hey presto, I can now set my Home Page to whatever I want.
I'm not saying that this is what is causing your problem, but have a
really good think about what you have installed and if there's any
chance that it might be the culprit.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
