Try Control Panel / Internet Options / Programs.

Aim - (Aol Instant Messaging AFAIK) is NOT an email client, so it won't show
up in Internet Options-Programs-Email and Instant messaging programs do not
"do" email - they are what they say thet=y are - /instant/ messaging
programs. You can't use Aim for email because it doesn't do email.

AIM is not an email client, so the OP won't be /able/ to set it as default
/email/ client as it isn't one.
AFAIK?

After looking at www.aol.com (of all places!), the new AIM does provide
web mail. From AOL's web site:

"Q: Can I access my e-mail through AIM?
A: Yes, you can by downloading the latest release of AIM! If your AIM
screen name is the same as your AOL screen name, then AIM will
automatically notify you when there is mail in your mailbox. From the
notification window, you can access your mail on AOL.COM.

You can also check the status of any POP3 mailboxes that you own. Just
configure the mailboxes in the Mail tab within AIM preferences."

Setting this as the default would require a script or executable from
AOL/AIM, similar to the one found here:

You can't. AIM isn't an email client; it's an instant messaging program.
