Hello All,

Situation: I need to create a default email template to include a
confidentiality statement on any new email that is created?

Current Configuration: I have 14 computers that will soon be connected to
W2K3 SBS but currently are using Outlook 2003 with Pop3 and SMTP servers as
the means of transmission. The organization does not have a static IP
address and I'm not sure they want/will spend the money (it's a non-profit
org) to have one assigned.

Questions: Can a template be created and used through the W2K3 SBS that
would be the default email "page" for each user or is this something that
can only be done using Exchange Server included with SBS?

If a global template can not be used in this way, is it possible to add it
to each users account/profile on the SBS server?

I have tried to change the default mail.oft on one computer for testing
purposes with little luck. If I open this file from explorer it shows my
newly created email "page" but if I click on new in Outlook I get the
standard blank page.

I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing but the light hasn't gone off
yet. :-( The other thing I need to mention is the users at this
organization have very little to no computer knowledge which is why I'd like
to be able to use the New icon instead of them trying to learn how to use
forms.

Thanks in advance for all thoughts and comments.

Thanks for the direction Sue! It looks as though I will be jumping into
Exchange server head first and will try to implement one of the VB or
VBScripts I have seen mentioned. Ya gotta love those that want steak on a
bologna budget! Will repost when I get stuck! :-)

There are tools for SMTP servers as well as Exchange servers to do this.
Many of those listed at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/content_control.htm
have SMTP server versions.

This is definitely a task for a server-based solution, since anything at the
client can be countermanded by the user.
