How can each profile (user) on an Windows XP Pro SP2 box have their own
default programs. Specifically email or web browser?

I share a machine with three people, we use different email and browser
programs: IE & Firefox, Outlook 2003, Outlook Express & Thunderbird.
Each time one of us sets a default program it changes the default for
all users. Doesn't that defeat the point of user profiles!?
My spouse is involved so you understand the urgency for resolution.

Hi Grafis,

Set the default browser for your user profile:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm
Tested with the following browsers: MyIE2, SlimBrowser, CrazyBrowser, GreenBrowser, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox1.0 P.R

Set the default email client on a per-user basis:

Thank you Ramesh, exactly what I needed!
Mind boggling that 'mailto' isn't profile based
