Default email program setting

This will sound simple at first. When I click on a link in
an email or on a web site in order to email some person or
company, the PC will not go to my default email program
but tries to use Opera which is no longer on my PC. I have
set and checked for the setting in Internet Options both
in IE 6.0 and in the control panel. Both show my normal
email program is selected but won't use it when I try to
send from a link. Any ideas?

Hi,

In Internet explorer click tools | Options and then click the programs tab and see what the default email program is listed there. you will have to change it.

Believe it or not but the correct program is called out
but is not accessed from a received email link or link in
a web site viewed using IE 6.0. It really doesn't make
sense but right now if I click a link to send a message on
a web site, nothing happens. (I removed Opera which was
being called for when I clicked the links but which I
never set up for this purpose.) Very odd.

I managed to fix it. Changed the email program in Internet
optioons to Outlook Express, left it for a couple of days,
then changed it back to my original email client and it
works. Also uninstalled Opera but that was back some time
before, as it was the one being selected by the PC.
