My Default e mail editor changed to Word for some unknown reason yesterday.
Suddenly I get messages like " MICROSOFT WORD IS SET TO BE YOUR E MAIL EDITOR
HOWEVER WORD IS UNAVAILABLE / NOT INSTALLED . OLE REGISTRATION ERROR"

I would like Outlook back as my default e mail . Tried to remove Word
Viewer as suggested on web but do not have it in ADD/ REMOVE programmes.

This is an Outlook setting: Tools, Options, tab Mail Format, section
Message Format: uncheck 'Use Microsoft Office Word to edit e-mail messages'.

Hi Pat

Tried it . My MICROSOFT WORD was not even SELECTED .

That is rather strange! You don't have Word installed, you don't have
the "Use Word" option checked; yet you get that message...?

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906307/ if anything here applies to
you. Also please post your Outlook version, and if you have any other
Office components installed (which versions).

Hi Pat

I'm running MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD 2003 and OUTLOOK 2003 from the OFFICE
PROFESSIONAL EDITION 2003

My son remembers that he tried to open/send a jpf file yesterday. It said "
The programme used to open not available ... or something like that ... DO
YOU WANT TO USE WORD AS DEFAULT ???? he never looked " and he clicked YES .
Since then the problen occured . Can I re-install OUTLOOK ? If YES .... HOW ?

THANKS for your REPLIES !!!!

I am really not quite sure what causes that, and how to fix this. If
this was occurring on my system, I would either try
- a System Restore to the point before it started, -or-
- Repair install of the whole Office suite

Hi Pat

Thanks Pat. Did a SYSTEM RESTORE. Working fine now!
