Default E-Mail Account

Hi! There Everyone,

I'm a newbie at this so please forgive any mistakes I may make as I start to
use the forum and learn about the community and the way it works! I've done
a search but cannot find any responses that answer my question.

My challenge is this: I have one profile which I use to collect e-mail from
various POP3 accounts. I recently decided to change the default e-mail
account but cannot get my profile to send out using the new default e-mail
account. It keeps reverting back to the old default e-mail account. What
should I do?

Any answers would be most welcome!

What version of Outlook are you using? Is the SMTP server configured
correctly? If the SMTP server isn't configured correctly Outlook will try
another account to send with. Office 2003 SP2 will change this behavior and
gives you an error message instead. In most cases you'll need to configure
your SMTP server to use authentication.

Hi! Roady,

Thanks for your note. I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1. I'll follow your advice
and upgrade to SP2 as well as check out with my Systems Administrator the
correct SMTP settings and authentication details.

I appreciate your help on this one.
