default drive

my hd was partioned into c and d .. when I open win explorer, the default
drive is always c: ... I'd like to change it to d: how?

Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read;
%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,D:\

Just right-click on your desktop and create a new shortcut, using
Dave's target string.

Right-click on the shortcut you used to start Windows Explorer and choose
properties.
