Is there any way to change the default format settings on any of the
autoshapes in Powerpoint XP? Thanks in advance.

Format the shape the way you want it, then rightclick it and choose Set
Autoshape Defaults

Understand that this sets the defaults for all autoshapes, not just the
currently selected type.
