I am using Windows XP SP2. I have set up two users. One is used
frequently, the other rarely.
At start up (and after going dormant) I have to choose which account to
log-in as. Is it possible to set this so that if I make no input within x
second it will default to one account?

TIA

AFAIK you can't specify a rollover after a timeout. You might want to
set the machine to login to your desired account automatically and then
on those few occasions when you want to log into the other one you can
hold down Shift as you're starting up to override the automatic logon.
