Deep Paint 2 (NB not Deep Paint 3D) released as freeware

This is the lesser-endowed of the two DP programs, without the ability
to paint directly onto 3D surfaces. It's still an excellent paint
program, though. Right Hemisphere have stopped developing and
supporting it, to the extent that there's no mention of it on their
site.

Commencing April 2005, a special freeware version of Deep Paint will be
available at www.downloads.com.

I have just tried it for an hour.

It is well worth the download size. It is an incredible paint program.
The brushes are very lifelike, try the wet materials - oil brushes
section.
It is like playing with floating mixed color on a palette or a canvas
in real life.

It has layers and lighting, and many other advanced features.
I use it under win98se, and I assume it runs well under later windows
versions too.

Pixia is fast, small, and very competent for its size.

Deep Paint is more advanced than Pixia,
mainly the brushes which are a lot more advanced than Pixia's.
Interface similar to The Gimp och Photoshop.
Floating tool windows.
