Chris

Hi,
I have a PC running with XP and Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106.
When I open exporer, under the taskbar is also a blue taskbar showed,
named 'deafsoftware'.
I can switch it off by clicking with the right mouse button on it and
take the sign away but it will show up every next time I open it.
Do a possibility exist that deletes the barr permanent?
Thanks in advance,
Chris.

I take it that this is something that you did not load onto your computer, but somehow got anyway
First, go to your add/remove programs to see if it is listed there. If it is, you can delete it there
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll try something else

No one knows what it is or how to delete it?
I checked the PC of a friend of my and he had no 'deafsoftware' on the tskbar!
Anyone knows where it came from?
Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Google turned up this:
www.deafsoftware.com/

If this is legit software it may have an entry in the add/remove
program. If not, try to uninstall it using ad-aware and spybot.

If you cannot, try with the other tools, CWShredder and Hijack this.

Try downloading, installing and updating the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Ad-aware

Spybot S&D

More info about parasites:
http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

Download the utility CWshredder:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

Unzip - close *all* instances of IE & OE, hit the executable and
follow
the prompts.

You can also download Hijack This from here:

http://www.mjc1.com/files/merijn/hijackthis.exe

Go here:
http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

For instructions on how to use it; you have to post the log it
produces here:

so experts tell you what is good and what is malware
HiJack This is a program that simply searches for programs that run at
boot time, and checks for browser plug-ins. The results this program
gives you are generally just informative. Most of the programs it will
come up with are valid programs that you actually want running. You'll
have to go through the results and tell the program to delete unwanted
programs. If you can't figure out what some of the programs are, don't
just delete them, research them and/or post them so experts can let
you know what the program does. Just type the program name into google
which gets a decent answer pretty quickly.

If these don't correct the problem, then get yourself a copy of
BHODemon, available at
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm .

It does not need installing - simply unzip and run the EXE program. It
is easy to use. It will find the hijackware DLL files, and give you
the ability to disable them.

Hope this helps.

Hi Roger,
thank you for making me aware that the barr do not belong to Explorer.
I runned the programmes you advised and then took a closer look to the barr.
It is from 'search the web', supported by 'lop.com'.
They offer a tool via their help to remove it and that worked!
Thanks,
Chris.

You're very welcome Chris :-)
Glad you got rid of the bar.
