It did it because either you changed some hardware or updated a driver.
The solution is to do phone activation and swear to someone in India
that you're not a thief and your copy of Vista is legit. If they believe
you, they will give you a long string of numbers to reactivate. If they
don't believe you, you will have to buy another copy of Vista. Ain't it
grand?

If this kind of impertinent crap bothers you, as well it should, check
out Ubuntu Linux. Not only are there no WPA, WGA/T, WGA/N or any other
"anti piracy" apps to contend with, there isn't one single virus or
malware for Linux on the Net. Not one. You can order a free CD of Ubuntu
or download and ISO here:

Not true! You might want to check your facts.

"Currently there are under 100 native Linux viruses known but in many
organizations the fact that a Linux viruses exists is enough reason to
install and use Linux antivirus protection on Linux desktops and
servers."

It's ok, just read that info for reactivating very carefully.

When Internet reactivation fails, it gives you a toll-free phone number to
call.

Just tell them you need to reactivate because you updated something.

Why did this happen? You either changed hardware or installed an update that
affects the way the hard drive is read (new raid/SATA drivers etc.).

Why is your key already used? It is used by "YOU" in your first activation.
Activate by the phone method and explain you need to reactivate. It will
take about 5 minutes.

Geeze. It's not all that bad. They will reactivate it for you. You don't
have buy another copy. Alias is just embelishing. His response is normal.
If you have trouble with your car navigation he will say check out Ubuntu
navigation. If your Blue Toilet Bowl Tables are not blue, he will suggest
Ubuntu tablets, if your Preperation H isn't working, he will suggest Ubuntu
Open Source Preperation H.

Just call them up and reactivate.

Something obviously had changed, either you installed new hardware or a
driver that changed the activation priority. To re-activate you will need to
use the telephone activation option on the main activation screen. This is
free phone (toll free) and is automated so you need to be in front of your
pc when you call. When you click on the telephone option on the activation
screen Vista will generate a set of numbers; these you will need to type
into your telephone keypad when asked to do so by the activation line. In
return the automated activation line will give you another set of numbers
which you will need to type into the dialogue boxes on your computer screen.
This will allow your copy of vista to be activated. If activation fails stay
on the line and you will be transferred to a 'real' person who will be bale
to help with the activation.

I have and no Linux desktop has been attacked successfully. The fact
that it's theoretically possible compared to Window virtual certainty is
enough to use Linux if one wants to be safe from this kind of nonsense
and the nonsense this thread is about, something you didn't deign to
address.

Does it feel good when you bend over for MS?
They will reactivate it for you.

If it's for sure, why do we need to call? It's not for sure, that's why.
You don't
have buy another copy.

Maybe, maybe not.

You're being ridiculous.
Just call them up and reactivate.

Or switch to a real OS and not have to go through that crap.

It figures you would like that. It goes well with your belching,
snorting and smirking.

None that have successfully attacked a Linux desktop. Oops. How many
Windows bots are there? Millions? How many Linux bots? None.

You just don't know what you're doing but what else is new?

Wow, so when you bend over for MS, all they have are quickies? How can
you be so sure the OP will be approved? Are you the India Help Desk
manager? Are they told to reactivate everyone? If so, what's the point
other than to waste paying customers' time?

Your helpful suggestions have been great, but offensive comments like this
cause you to lose credibility, IMHO.

Someone of intelligence should have enough self control to keep online
public messages neutral, with sensitivity to how it will be read by others.

Your right to freely express your opinion stops short of abusive remarks of
mature content, which is highly offensive in many religious teachings.

If you really feel the need to insult someone, please have the decency to
avoid insulting everyone else in the process.

On a bad day, I sometimes misread the author's emotions in plain text, but I
*try* to reply without using offensive language.
