I am planning to buy a new laptop. I have a personal copy
of winxp pro installed on my current laptop. I want to
copy the hardisk as is with all info, I will worry about
drivers later. But can I do that? Will xp have problems?
can I install the same copy on another computer before
deactivating the first installation?

Thank you...

If your version is SP1, you will have three days to activate a previously
activated license key. If it is pre-SP1, you will have to activate
immediately. If there has been no activation within 120 days of the initial
installation, you will have 30 days to activate.
You can determine from the above when you can install.

How do I "deactivate", move to another computer or sell a previously
activated XP?
