I tried to de-frag my C drive and at analyse, the PC said:

'De-frag of C drive aborted due to inconsistencies that
were detected in the File system. Run Scandisk to repair
and then run de-frag again.

Well, I did all that and it's just the same. Can anyone
help me out please?

Perhaps your hard drive is dying. You didn't give us any details about
it, so it's not possible to give a specific answer, although the
reference to Scandisk is confusing since Windows XP doesn't use
Scandisk (NT systems use Chkdsk). However, I'll assume you already ran
Chkdsk (if not, do so with the /F switch).

Download a diagnostic utility from the drive mftr.'s website and make a
bootable floppy with it. Boot from that floppy and run a full
diagnostic. If the drive has errors, replace it.

Please confirm that you are using XP! If XP is telling you that you
need to run Scandisk, then there is a bug MS needs to fix. Scandisk
doens't exist in any NT architecture OS, so if that error message is
correct it is steering you in the wrong direction!
