Windows Xp no SPs. I don't know if I installed something
that overwrote the correct version of dcomx.exe, but
about once a day this error message pops up on my
screen "dcomx.exe has encountered a problem and needs to
close." Have searched the MS knowledge base for the past
3 days with the error message.. no results
Any clues?
Please help.

That sounds like one of the files that the Blast worm affects. Wouldn't hurt
to check that out, in any case. Download the latest patch from MS and update
your antivirus software.

Thanks, but I just ran the fixblaster.exe provided by
Norton and also installed the MS03-026 patch. I rebooted
once already after the fixblaster, it still came up.
Any other suggestions?
greately appreciated.
Thanks.
