Gentlemen,

Every time I start Windows XP pro a number of error reports show up in the
system log.
I am using a Swedish version but this is the report:

Åtkomst nekad vid försök att starta en DCOM-server med
DefaultLaunchPermission. Servern är
{00020906-0000-C000-000000000046}
Användaren är Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable.

In English it would be something like:

Access refused when attempting to start a DCOM-server with
DefaultLaunchPermission. The Server is
{00020906-0000-C000-000000000046}
The user is Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable.

This repeated five times with the exact same report.

It does not seem to have any influence on the system but it is very
frustuating not knowing what is the culprit.

Does anybody have any advice?

Try Start, Run, type regedit and OK. Place the cursor on My Computer, select
Edit, Find and search for the guid number 00020906-0000-C000-000000000046.
You will most likely find a number of entries. One or more will give you a
clue as to what is not responding.

On my computer I initially got no result to my search. However, it may be
that you have copied the guid incorrectly as this looks a possibility:

00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046

This makes the programme involved Microsoft Word.

Can you post a copy of the Error Report from Event Viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, Event
Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID,
Source
and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling
two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make sure
this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
