.dbx files

I compacted and saved my Outlook Express folders using the Compact option,
which saves them as .dbx files. I had to reinstall Windows and now I can't
find a way to restore the .dbx files. Anyone out there know how to do this?

No, it doesn't "save" them as DBX files. They were already DBX files.
That's where OE stores your messages, compacted or not.
I had to reinstall Windows
and now I can't find a way to restore the .dbx files.

If you didn't make a copy of those DBX files to another disk prior to
reinstalling Windows, you erased them and you're out of luck.
