You may try XBaseView and DbfNavigator. The former is a free plugin to
<OT>Total Commander</OT> and has a free standalone version, too. The
latter is a good *.dbf editor which has been around without updates
for a couple of years. Both are good. And both are hosted on slow
Russian servers. That's why I list direct download links, too:

The latest version of the XBaseView plugin is 6.2; the newest standalone
version, I know of, is 6.06. Unfortunately, this might be the last free
version. Evgeniy Savich announced to (possibly) release the standalone
version 7.0 as payware... :-(

If both programs don't fulfill your needs please post what features are
missing. I know a couple of other free tools which might do the trick.
But those are usually not that general-purpose oriented as the 2 above.

The download link you posted for the free version still works - for the
moment anyway.

Yes, I got hold of his v7.0 barely a week after I posted the above.
Although it would have been one of the best free *.dbf editors, it
is just one out of many within the Shareware/Payware league. That's
why I don't think Evgeniy will get rich from that one. Even the
support for *.mdb and some other database formats doesn't make the
program unique within the non-free area.

I hope, he holds his promise and keeps the Plugin free. (In combination
with Christian Ghislers free Lister, that plugin could still proof very
useful!)
