Hi,

We are using Access 2000, a database has been setup for my
company, and there is a schedule or date set somewhere, i
am not sure either within access or elsewhere to run an
update at 12am on a monday. We have a timesheet system,
whereby users fill in their times and on a weekly bais
this data is then pulled and must be approved by line
manager, but i am not sure how i would go about change the
date, instead of monday to a friday.

Is there a way of setting up a schedule or dae in access
2000, rather than using windows schuduler?

p.s. this may also be linked to a pivot table.

Thanks

Click on Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Scheduled Tasks.
Look to see if your database is in the schedule. If it is, I believe you can
right click on it and change the Day and Time. If clicking does not work,
Delete it from the schedule, Click on Add Scheduled Task and follow the
directions of the wizard that appears.

Hi,

I had a look at the scheduler and there isnt a task setup
up. Is it possible there coule be an event setup in the
database to trigger something or a query that will update
another sheet on a certain date or at the begining of
every week. If so where would i find this data.

Thanks

First, when you say there isnt a task setup at the scheduler, do you mean
you can't find that function in Scheduler or do you mean your database is
not a scheduled task?

If it is done through the database, the database would have to be open at
the precise time to run the update. Is this the case? Typically this is done
by opening a hidden form when the database opens. The database then uses the
Timer event of the hidden form to frequently check the clock date and time
and then runs the update at the date and time. You could look in two places
for a form that opens when the database opens:
Startup properties
AutoExec Macro
