Hi Folks

I need to enter

Mon 17
Tues 18
Wed 19 etc

When using the fill handle, it will only change 17 to 18 to 19 or Mon to
Tues to Wed.

I need to change BOTH so Mon 17 becomes Tues 18 and Wed 19 etc.,

Any ideas pepes? Apologies if this has already been raised but I couldn't
find any previous postings.

Does Mon 17 stand for 8/17/2009?

If so, you can just enter the actual date 8/17/2009 and fill down as needed.
Then custom format as ddd d.

Assuming your cell is an actual date, then filling down will change both..
Your cell format would be set up in the custom section of format cells as
ddd dd

One way to get it done, Bleau
In the startcell, say in B2, enter the full date, ie: 17 Aug 2009
Format B2 as custom: ddd dd
Now you can drag B2 to fill it down, and it'll return exactly what you seek
Any good? hit the YES below

Thx Sean but when I formatted as ddd dd it only changed the digits and not
the weekdays.

However, saying that - I have managed to sort the problem myself with the
format of mmm-yyyy in custom format - weird or what?

I'm on an XP system using 2007 Excel in the UK.

Thnx pepes.
