Date reporting Database

I am new to Access. I need to design a Database that will notify me when an
item is due by date such as item #1234 was checked on 4/18/09 and needs to be
checked again in 90 Days and the program will notify me that is is due again.
The item needs to be flagged until I enter the new date that it was checked.
Am I making any sense to anyone?
