I have two different users, who have the same machines and the same
version of office. However when one of the users types in a date; i.e -
10/02/2005, and then goes to format the cell, they can click on a date
type that will look like;
"*Thursday 10 February 2005".

However on the second users machine this function is not present, all
they have the option of is;
"*10 February 2005".

I dont know why it is missing of the day?? Can someone please help me?

I don't know the answer, and I do not have that format, but you can easily
get it with a custom format of dddd dd mmmm yyyy

I think it's a windows setting that's different.

Windows start button|control panel|regional settings
On winxp, on the regional Options tab, click customize, then date tab.
(Other versions of windows follow a different path.)

Check the long date format for each pc. I think you'll find them different.

But if you read that footnote (the asterisk at the beginning of the sample),
you'll see that excel will use the windows date format for this format.

So if you choose one of those formats marked with an asterisk, you'll never know
what that cell looks like when someone else opens your workbook -- well, you
will if they tell you!
