When entering dates, how do you format the column so that
you can enter just the numbers of the date (i.e. 100603)
and have it appear as "10/06/03" with the dashes. I've
tried using "custom" under formatting cells, but that
doesn't work. I've also tried using "tools"
and "autocorrect," but that only works for the specific
date you enter, and not any date.

I've posted more than once because no one has been able
to answer my question. Also, so many questions are
posted daily that if a couple days go by, your question
seems to get lost and no one posts replies. Sorry, but
I'm posting until I receive an answer that works. Thanks.

If you'd bothered to look at the reference you were given by two
very knowledgeable posters on Friday and repeated again yesterday,
you'd realize that you already have an answer that works. Just
because it isn't the answer you want doesn't mean that it's wrong
(and to spell it out expicitly: Changing cell format, except for
Text, does not affect how the parser interprets your input. You need
to use an event macro).

Continued violation of group etiquette really reduces the chances
that other knowledgeable people will bother to look at your
questions.

If, for some reason, you missed the replies, you can always check
the archives:

Here are the microsoft publisher groups:

microsoft.public.de.german.publisher
microsoft.public.es.publisher
microsoft.public.fr.publisher
microsoft.public.it.office.publisher
microsoft.public.jp.officexp.publisher
microsoft.public.nl.office.publisher
microsoft.public.pt.publisher
microsoft.public.publisher
microsoft.public.publisher.prepress
microsoft.public.publisher.programming
microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign
microsoft.public.tw.publisher

Among the english groups Google archives

microsoft.public.publisher.prepress
microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign
microsoft.public.publisher.programming

I got 207,000 hits using *publisher* in the newsgroup field with no
other fields filled in. I found none with your email address as the
author. Note that there's about a 4-8 hour lag between the
newsgroups and the archive.
