Database to track pet diet?

Hello! I hope you can help me! I am trying to create a database to keep track
of the food my exotic pet eats.... I want to be able to list the kind of food
it eats for each day of the week. As well, I need to keep track of how much,
too! And on some days it eats different types of food..

I'm lost. A friend told me that the people in this newsgroup are the
smartest and friendliest and most helpful people ever! Any ideas about how I
can begin?

I thought it might help to include some of the kind of information I might
use!

Monday - 1 apple
Tuesday - 2 pears
Wednesday - 3 plums
Thursday - 4 strawberries
Friday - 5 oranges
Saturday: 1 piece of chocolate cake, 1 ice cream cone, 1pickle, 1 slice of
Swiss cheeze, 1 slice of Salami, 1 lollipop, 1 piece of cherry pie, 1
sausage, 1 cupcake, 1 slice of watermelon
Sunday - 1 nice green leaf

Oh, did I mention that the pet was a caterpillar?

I'm guessing that when you woke up on Monday you discovered your pet had
vanished and a pesky butterfly was in your room. I'd think there would no
longer be a need to track the diet.

Ah, you are correct, sir!

It was a beautiful, sunny day, and I was reading The Hungry Caterpillar,
