I work for a very large retail establishment. I am one of the night crew
stockers. I also have developed a few websites and do a lot of administration
for my church. The software I currently own is Office 2003 and Adobe Acrobat
Professional.
Here is the problem. There are 13 different departments in each store. Each
store stocks basically identical merchandise. Each store has approximately
50,000 divided into each of these departments. The nice thing is that all
these items can be described using 6 fields on a description form for
inventory purpose.
If I set up an Access dbase with all these items and then save as a .xml
file I cannot import to a ready made form using Acrobat designer. Because it
will try to import all 50,000 items onto a form designed for 1 item at a
time.I want to be able to make Access and Acrobat work together nicely. I
want to be able to pull one item at a time from Access and have it
automatically fill in the predesigned dynamic form.
I get the strange feeling that there are some programming issues here. If
that be the case I am out of my league. However, I live in the San Fernado
Valley in S. California. And would be willing to pay someone or partner with
someone in developing a solution to this problem. In partnering I mean I have
all the inside information to the data needed to build the dbase. Once
complete I could make a nice Frontpage CD with screenshots and the whole
shabang and present to the CEO of the company. There is a definite gap
between us grunts down here and the geeks the suits have hired to run their
company and make our time more productive and profitable.
