Database Engine Stopped

When trying to open a database I get the following message "The microsoft
jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are
attempting to change the same data at the same time". I cannot open it,
compact/repair the database. I have even tried to create a new DB and 'Get
External' from the old one. I still get the message.

Can anyone help?
 
Make sure no one has the database open and ook in the folder where the
database is stored. If there is a file that has the same name as your
database, except that the extension is .ldb, then you should delete that
file.
