Data Validation with colour

Is it possible to have Data validation for a list of values but ad
colour to a selection of them?

At the moment they change back to the default colour?

May be an IF Command

Like IF = 6 THEN RE

Changing colour dependent on data is called "Conditional formatting" and is
to be found on the Format menu. It is independent of Data validation.
 
Ian,

I think you would have to add the same condition to CF that you have in the
Data Validation.

OK this workds for one single colour but not multiple colours.

Any clues for multi colours
 
It can work for 3 colours, you just add extra conditions.

So do I put the CF on the source data?

I've tried this and it still wont work. Could you create an example and
upload it?
