Data Validation widths...

Hello,

I have created several data validation cells within my spreadsheet,
however, on occasion the widths get stretched quite wide.

Does anyone know how to control the width to the original default size?

I've seen the problem in a few workbooks, and have a sample here:

Sometimes, the dropdowns return to normal width if I delete any columns
that contain merged cells with data validation, resize all the columns,
save and close the file.

Sometimes the problems disappears as mysteriously as it first appeared.
