data type of replication id

I have a readonly property on an access 2000 class, named Id, that returns a
replication id. What is the data type for a replication id? a string? if
so, this returns a string resembling {guid
{1E8148DE-BB24-494E-A36F-74938922C5ED}}. Is there another option?
