I am trying to transfer data from an excel 2002 cell to a
specific place in a word 2002 document. I am not trying
to cut/copy and paste. I want data entered in excel to
transfer automatically to a word file in a specific
location within that word file. Can you help?

Select the cell in Excel and copy. Switch to Word, go to the target
location, then Edit > Paste Special, and check the Link checkbox.

Having just posted a reply to your identical question in this group I find
that you posted this less than 20 minutes earlier which was answered
correctly by fellow correspondent Jezebel.. A second attempt may be
warranted after 48 hours without a reply, on the rare occasions a post is
missed - but 20 minutes? You wouldn't get that sort of service if you were
paying for it.

If you have a follow up question, then ask it in the same thread. There's
nothing so irritating as to spend time on a reply only to find that someone
else has already done the work.
