I get a popup computer message now and then,in a sort of bell shaped message
box, stating

"Data Feeds Sleeping"

Anyone else familiar with this , and to what in the world does it refer?
Thanks in advance?

This is a link to a small FREE program by McAfee Anti-virus named Stinger.
It will scan your system for 54 known viruses and trojans and repair them.
You don't need McAfee anti-virus installed on your computer... this is a
stand alone program. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ or

Direct Download: http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stng260.exe

NOTE: Disable System Restore BEFORE you run Stinger:

Microsoft provides free anti-virus software that can be used for 1 year.

Another possibility is to borrow a second computer with anti-virus software on it, and put that
HDD in it as a slave, and run the anti-virus software to clean it up.

Thanks VERY much for your time.

I do use the PC Cillin Security Suite, Spy Sweeper, Windows Defender and
Antiviral basics + keep everything automatically updated, and I scan daily.
But a virus still eh? So far it has caused no obvious trouble, but I'll treat
it as a virus or malware with a call to PC Cillin and Spy Sweeper Support. A
google sure suggests that it is not a normal system message. The only other
reference to it is an April 25th, 2005 post to another forum, and they
thought it was probably a virus too, and suggested the Hijack This approach.

Again, thank you for your very thorough suggestions.

Another thing to try -- have you run a A/V scan in
"safe mode" (not that windows is ever "safe" ;-) )?
Often things that manage to hide themselves in normal
mode will get found in "safe mode" using the same scan.
