dail-up problems

Hi, I have Windows XP Home Edition. I connect to the Internet and connect to my Homepage, biut when I go to another site it loads half way then stops. What gives? Thanks I have a Compaq computer 2Ghz CPU, 128MB Ram, Lucent 56K V92 modem
