Greetings, Again, and please exzcuse me with all the
questions, I just do not have anyone else to ask...
I have just one more question...
I recently got out my first computer from storage. It
also, had given up the ghost and I purchased the second
one that I am also trying to "work on" / "learn from"
would be more like it. Anyhow, I used my 98 se disk to
boot from and have managed to get the system 'almos't back
up and going, I think! I can connect to my ISP, but
cannot get any farther that that. I do not know why or
what the deal is with that. It is like I am really not
connected at all. Once I 'connec't to the internet, It
just 'hangs' there and goes no farther.
Also, I get this error message now. It says that the "d
drive is not ready"! What does it mean, "...it is
not 'ready'"! It is a new on for me, for sure. And it
only started happening after I swapped out the hard
drives. It was small - like 2 gb! And I put a 6 gig in
it that someone gave me after upgrading their system.
Could that have an affect on the d drive?
Sorry, that was two questions... But, thank you all for
bearing with me and helping out! Really, Thanks!!

Your in windows xp newsgroup. I think your windows is
windows 98. If this is a windows 98 installaion disk you
should post to :

http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?
NewsGroup=microsoft.public.win98.performance&SLCID=US&ICP=
GSS3&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups

But before I post to that group you'll need to gather
information about your computer. Memory capacity ?Mbs and
speed of computer ?ghz? No one can give suggestion
without that info.

Judging what I read here, your are under capacity in
memory, ghz and hard disk capacity, maybe even for
windows 98. You can get a new dell for $ 499.
