D: drive disappeared from system

Checked ASI - Error Log; got
The device 'maxtor 2B020H1' (IDE\Diskmaztor_2B020H1) disappeared from the
system withou first being prepared for removal.

Source is Pluplay manager

Windows Defender daily update was installing at time of "deletion" message.
Anyone had this prob? Solutions?

The same thing happened to me recently. "My Computer" does not recognize the
DVD drive and the drive is unresponsive. The green light on it keeps
flashing, but it won't open.
